History

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana began working together in Milan in 1984 and formally established Dolce&Gabbana the following year. The label grew from womenswear into menswear, accessories, footwear, jewelry, beauty and lifestyle, while maintaining the founders’ direct creative control. In 2012, the house launched Alta Moda, its Italian answer to haute couture, expanding that universe into Alta Sartoria and high jewelry. Four decades after its founding, Dolce and Gabbana remain closely identified with the creative identity of the privately held company.
