Acne Studios is a multidisciplinary luxury fashion house founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1996 by Jonny Johansson. Initially part of the creative collective ACNE (Ambition to Create Novel Expressions), it became known for its raw denim. History

Acne Studios emerged in Stockholm in 1996 from the multidisciplinary creative collective ACNE. One of its earliest fashion projects was a small run of raw-denim jeans, which helped push the project toward clothing. Under Jonny Johansson, Acne developed into an independent international fashion house while retaining its broader cultural interests in publishing, furniture, art and photography. The brand marked its 30th anniversary in 2026, revisiting pieces and ideas from Johansson’s archive while continuing to show in Paris.
